Jan / 1990 The 1st Research Meeting was held.
Founders: Hirohisa Kato (Kurume University),
Tetsuro Kamiya (National Cardiovascular Center),
Akira Ishizawa (National Children’s Hospital).
In addition to the three founders,
Kazuo Momma (Tokyo Women’s Medical University)
was appointed as the Chairperson.
  / 1994 The Jackson detachable coil for PDA was approved and launched.
  / 1998 The JPIC nationwide questionnaire survey was initiated.
  / 1999 Kiyoshi Baba (Kurashiki Central Hospital) and
Shigeyuki Echigo (National Cardiovascular Center)
were appointed as Chairpersons, in addition to Hirohisa Kato,
Akira Ishizawa, and Kazuo Momma.
Jan / 2000 The first issue of the JPIC News Letter was published.
  / 2001 The Jackson detachable coil was upgraded
from stainless steel to the MRI-compatible “Inconel”-based
Flipper PDA.
Jan / 2002 The Koike Kazuyuki Award was established.
Jan / 2003 The JCIC Award was established
(formerly Toshihiro Ino Award: 2003–2009; JPIC Award: 2010–2019).
  / 2006 The Amplatzer Septal Occluder was approved and launched.
Jan / 2007 Toshio Nakanishi (Tokyo Women’s Medical University)
was appointed as Chairperson.
  / 2009 The Amplatzer Duct Occluder was approved and launched.
Jan / 2011 Hideshi Tomita (Showa University Northern Yokohama Hospital)
was appointed as President.
Jan / 2011 The creation of JCIC Registry (formerly JPIC Database)
was initiated.
Jan / 2012 The Young Investigator Award (YIA) was established.
Oct / 2012 The 1st JCIC Hands-on Seminar (formerly JPIC Hands-on Seminar)
was held.
Nov / 2012 The first edition of the "Guidelines for Transcatheter Therapy
for Congenital and Pediatric-onset Heart Disease (JPIC guideline)"
was published.
Jan / 2013 The JCIC Registry (formerly JPIC Database) officially went
into operation.
  / 2013 The Amplatzer Vascular Plug family was approved and launched.
  / 2013 The Nykanen RF needle was approved and launched.
  / 2014 The Nykanen RF wire was approved and launched.
Jan / 2016 The nationwide survey was fully transitioned
to registry-based data collection (current JCIC Registry).
  / 2016 The first issue of the Journal of JCIC
(formerly Journal of JPIC) was published, replacing
the JPIC News Letter.
  / 2016 Toshio Nakanishi (Tokyo Women’s Medical University)
was appointed as Chairperson.
  / 2016 The Occlutech ASD Occluder was approved and launched.
Jan / 2017 Shinichi Otsuki (Okayama University Hospital)
was appointed as President.
Apr / 2017 JCIC was formally registered as a General Incorporated Association.
  / 2019 The Amplatzer Duct Occluder II was approved and launched.
Jan / 2020 The society was renamed from JPIC to JCIC.
Jan / 2020 The registry was renamed from JPIC-DB to JCIC Registry (JCIC-R).
  / 2020 The Tomita Award was established.
  / 2020 The Amplatzer Piccolo Occluder was approved and launched.
  / 2021 The Gore Cardioform ASD Occluder was approved and launched.
  / 2022 TPVI using the Harmony valve was approved and launched.
Apr / 2024 JCIC joined the Federation of Surgical Societies' Committee
on Social Insurance (Gaihoren).
Jan / 2025 Sung-Hae Kim (Shizuoka Children’s Hospital)
was appointed as President.
Aug / 2025 The "2024 Revised Guidelines for Transcatheter Therapy
for Congenital and Pediatric-onset Heart Disease (JCIC guideline)"
was published.
